I went to watch Nathan Fowkes's
workshop though Schoolism
in Florianopolis. (if you don't know who he is, shame on you! Here's his blog http://nathanfowkes.blogspot.c…
) He is one of the big artists behind Shrek, Puss in Boots, Road to Eldorado etc. The workshop lasted 5 hours and it was AMAZING. He talked about so many fundamentals of painting! It was super helpfull and intimidating to say the least (himself and everybody in the auditorium were SUPER talented). I had a chance to talk to Bobby Chiu as well (the artist from the day's before workshop and the GOD of digital painting), he was super friendly, looked at some of my work from tumblr and gave me some tips. Really good experience and I've been doing lots of experiments!
I know I've been away for a time, but we can say I was having a "doubt" period: I'm graduating from high school right now and I spent a lot of time thinking what I wanted to do with... well, life! I still don't know LOL (in case you were expecting a bright answer) but I do have some clues now.
The thing is: when I stopped to realise "Oh, okay, soon I'm gonna have to make my own money to live" I panic. The only thing I can do with something close to passion is draw HOW AM I SUPOSSE TO PUT FOOD IN MY TABLE WITH THIS!? Hahaha having that said I considered strongly going to Bussiness school. But then again I would literally drag myself to work/school knowing I would spend the days with numbers, something I don't have any interest at all, just to be safe. (And a little rich lol)
All in all, suming it up: I applied to 3 bussines courses AND one graphic design course. My heart is deeply pending to last one.
Am I scared of becoming a hobo? Yeah! Will I struggle to find a job? Probably! Will there be people with LOTS better skills in the field making me feel like sh*t? HECK YEAH! But I know is something I like doing.
Also both Nathan and Bobby talked about connecting with your audience. I'll try my best to! (People on DA don't seem to forgive big hiatus though HAHAHA)
OK, I've talked way too much and highly doubted someone read till here so
